Leaps Ahead Early Intervention

Helping parents when they need us the most, because childhood doesn't wait

About Us

Welcome to Leaps Ahead Early Intervention (LAEI)

Leaps Ahead Early Intervention provides individually tailored programs for children from 18 months to 16 years of age diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or who have other additional needs. Our programs use the principles and techniques of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to help the child move towards age-appropriate levels in all areas of child development. We also offer behaviour support services to help children learn socially appropriate behaviours.

We are a statewide Tasmanian NDIS registered provider.

Our therapy programs are run through our centre in Glenorchy as well as in the child's familiar environments (home, school and in the community). Leaps Ahead Early Intervention is also a mobile service which extends to families throughout Tasmania including North, North West and East.

Studies are available (see our resource link), that support the use of ABA with children with any number of different diagnoses including Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, emotional disorders, dyslexia, dyspraxia, anxiety, and global developmental delay. We also work with children with attention deficit disorders.

Is your child struggling to learn?

We can help by using evidence-based methods like Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support to help your child with autism or other developmental delays improve essential life skills and help children learn.
Leaps Ahead Early Intervention acknowledges the muwinina and palawa peoples as the traditional owners and custodians of land, sea, sky and waterways of trowunna/lutruwita (Tasmania).

We pay our respects to elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.

We recognise a history of truth which acknowledges the impacts of invasion and colonisation upon Aboriginal people resulting in the forcible removal from their lands.

We stand for a future that profoundly respects and acknowledges Aboriginal perspectives, culture, language and history; and a continued effort to fight for Aboriginal justice and rights paving the way for a strong future.
